Dr. Cayla Bergstrom, Associate Optometrist

Dr. Cayla Bergstrom happily joined the Vision North team in June 2017 as an Associate Optometrist. Dr. Bergstrom received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. While attending the University, Dr. Bergstrom worked as an optometric technician; it was interactions with children and young adults receiving their first eyeglasses that moved her to pursue a career in eye care. She graduated with her Doctorate degree in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry.

Her clinical experience has been with the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute - Pediatric Optometry Clinic, the Providence VA Hospital, the Newport Naval Health Clinic, and the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. In 2017 she was awarded the Dr. Hyman R. Kamens Award for commitment to service, leadership, compassion and integrity in the college and optometric profession. She was also, in 2017, awarded the F. Dow Smith Award for leadership ability in the profession of optometry. Dr. Bergstrom is originally from Minnesota, but feels right at home in Boston where she enjoys golf, softball and gardening. As part of the team at Vision North, Dr. Bergstrom looks forward to providing comprehensive eye care experiences with a personal touch.
